It’s the little things

Sometimes animals I work ask for such teeny tiny things that it seems inconsequential. You want chicken for dinner? I’m sure you do. Bigger portions? Yeah I know, but you’re on a diet my friend. But something rather magical happens when we grant the wishes that they expressed in a communication. The horse who wanted a hot water bottle on his back before a ride? He’s moving more freely and happily than he has done for years. The cat who wanted poached chicken, finally came back into the house after running away. The mare who wanted to win a “red frilly” (first place rosette) finally behaved nicely enough to win the class at a show. The dog who wanted his person to move her slippers? He slept all night in the spot where the slippers were - right next to her bed.

Their people often report that they are more affectionate, more relaxed, and seem more content after a communication where the human has honoured their request. The effect for the animal is much greater than the pleasure they get from having the thing they asked for. It’s more of a bliss from having finally had their voices understood and listened to. Whether their request is tiny or big, if you understand it and you can; please do honour it. It is always important to them.
