Animal Communication with a cat: What Kitty needs (a Case Study)

Recently, I had the pleasure of facilitating a communication session between Claire and her cat, Kitty. Here’s how the session unfolded.

I always start a session by establishing if I’ve got a clear connection with the animal. I like to find out a bit about about their personality, and how they greet me, and I feed that back to their owner to see if it resonates. Kitty presented as friendly but a bit cautious about approaching me. I felt that I needed to present myself politely and take a permissive approach with her, rather than jump straight in at 100 miles an hour as some animals prefer. Interestingly she conveyed a strong sense of fairness and justice being VERY important to her. I saw this symbolised with the Ryder-Waite tarot card “Justice” - it’s not that I thought Kitty could read Tarot cards, more that she was communicating the sense of equity being important to her, and this was one way that my mind could interpret the data into a metaphor that I could understand. Claire, her human, explained that this made a lot of sense to her due to what she knew about Kitty’s past.

Having established a connection, Claire wanted to know how Kitty felt about the changes that had been made to her lifestyle following life changing injuries that Kitty had sustained. Kitty expressed feelings of grief and loss - she had really valued her freedom to roam, and had a sadness that I can only describe as grief for the loss of freedom to roam. As Kitty is experiencing some ongoing physical weakness and leaving the garden means balancing on tall fences and coming across known hazards, I can’t help but agree with Claire that Kitty is best having her right to roam contained a bit for her safety. Kitty was missing different smells and sights in particular, so I have suggested to the pair of them that Claire takes Kitty for walks on a leash so that she can experience some variety while she is still in the healing process.

We asked Kitty what had happened to have caused her accident. Claire wondered if she had got her tail caught in something, but my impression was one of a big dog getting hold of her. Kitty was understandably reluctant to revisit it in great detail or dwell on it.

As with many people who come to me for a session, Claire already has an intuitive connection with Kitty, so I left her with some exercises to develop that connection, and deepen her trust in the information she already receives.
